The incident occurred at 5 p.m. on Saturday. According to the ferry crew, the laser came from the Karlatornet skyscraper, writes GP.
It is Styrsöbolaget, which operates the ferries on behalf of Västtrafik, that made the decision.
"No one has been injured, but we have followed our safety policy and suspended traffic for safety reasons. And reported the incident to the police," Rose Saremi, press officer at Styrsöbolaget's owner Transdev, tells the newspaper.
It is the traffic between Lilla Bommen and Klippan that is canceled until Sunday morning.
Later on Saturday evening, the police received further calls about a green laser from Karlatornet, reports TV4 Nyheterna .
Now they are shooting at both motorists and pedestrians who are passing by, says Jennifer Last to TV4.
And earlier in the day, bus drivers in Angered in northeast Gothenburg reportedly raised the alarm about a green laser.
"We don't know if there's a connection. It might just be a coincidence," says Jennifer Last.
