André Göransson and Dutchman Sem Verbeek took the lead but ultimately lost their semifinal in the Australian Open men's doubles against Italians Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori with 6–2, 3–6, 4–6.
The Göransson Verbeek duo broke already in their opponents' second serve game and then managed to break again, taking the first set without having to save a single break point.
Then followed an even match that the Italians ultimately won via a break in both the second and third sets.
