Google was an early investor in SpaceX, alongside the AI model Grok. However, after SpaceX went public in May this year, restrictions apply to what Google, as a major shareholder, can do with the shares.
According to Google's report, the restrictions on most of the holding, worth $80 billion, are short-term. For the rest of the holding, valued at $14.1 billion, Google must hold the shares at least until the fall of 2027.
Google owner Alphabet is also a major shareholder in the AI company Anthropic.
