Several websites around the world have been down on Wednesday evening due to problems with Google's cloud service Google Cloud. Now the basic problem is said to have been identified.

The problems with the server service began to occur at 21:00 Swedish time.

According to Aftonbladet several Swedish websites such as Specsavers, Ikea and a number of newspapers belonging to the Bonnier group were affected.

The disruptions are said to have occurred due to problems with identity and access management at Google Cloud.

At 22:15, Google writes on its support page that it has identified the underlying problem and taken measures and that the infrastructure is fully restored in all world regions except one region in the USA. They expect the services to be fully restored by midnight Swedish time.
