Golf legend and two-time major winner "Fuzzy" Zoeller has died, the United States Golf Association writes on its website.

“We are grateful for everything he gave to golf,” said CEO Mike Whan in a statement.

The American is one of only three players to have won the prestigious US Masters major as a debutant, in 1979. No debutant has achieved the feat since. Zoeller also won the US Open, in 1984, during his professional career.

“Fuzzy” got his nickname from the initials of his first, middle, and last names (Frank Urban Zoeller).

He was 74 years old.
