The Golden Globes, which annually awards the year's best films and TV programs, is adding a new category: best podcast.
Twenty-five podcasters will qualify for the prize and six of them will ultimately be nominated in the entertainment world.
"As the entertainment world continues to develop, we are happy to acknowledge new forms of storytelling," says Golden Globes CEO Helen Hoehne in a statement.
The Golden Globe marks the start of Hollywood's major gala season in January every year and the 83rd Golden Globe Awards will take place on Sunday, January 11 next year. Like this year, the event will be hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser.
