The 2021 season saw Henrik Rydström named Coach of the Year, as he was behind Kalmar FF finishing sixth in the Allsvenskan table.
He then left the club, signing with Malmö FF – and has since gone without a prize.
In 2022, Per-Mathias Høgmo was awarded the prize after leading Häcken to the club's first Swedish Championship gold on the men's side.
The following year, Elfsborg's Jimmy Thelin was awarded the prize.
In 2024, Rydström will also go without a prize.
Despite Malmö FF winning the club's second consecutive Swedish Championship gold – the coach is not even nominated in the Coach of the Year category.
Shortly after the snub became known, MFF posted a picture of an X on Rydström together with two trophies and the text:
"Swedish Championship gold with a record-large margin. Swedish Cup. League play in Europe. Henrik Rydström's 2024", writes MFF.
The jury, consisting of coaching colleagues, team captains, and 32 sports journalists, instead believes that the trio Mikkjal Thomassen, AIK, Fredrik Holmberg, Gais, and Kim Hellberg, Hammarby, have had a greater influence on their teams' performances.
The gala takes place on November 20 at 20.00 and is broadcast on Kanal 9 and can be streamed on Max.
