The price of gold continues to climb to a new record high. On Tuesday, February futures were at $4,531 per ounce.
At 9:30 p.m. Swedish time, they had fallen to $4,492, which was still an increase of 1.1 percent compared to Monday, which was also a record day for the metal.
Gold is considered a safe investment in troubled times.
Silver is also at a record high for the second day in a row. March futures were at $71.28 an ounce in the evening - up 3.2 percent from Monday.
As for the copper price, it was above $12,000 per ton for the first time in morning trading.
The price had thus risen 36 percent since the turn of the year, the largest annual increase since 2009.
In the evening, the price was $11,925 per ton.
