The exploration company Lappland Guldprospektering has applied for a permit under the Environmental Code to conduct test mining at Stortjärnhobben in Storuman municipality in Västerbotten County. The purpose is to evaluate the site's gold content.
"This information is crucial to being able to carry out a technical and economic evaluation of future mining operations," the company writes in a press release.
The company, whose shares are listed on the trading platform Spotlight, wants to test mine 10,000 tons of rock in Stortjärnhobben by the fall of 2026.
