The price of gold and silver continues to rise during the Christmas holiday. On the night before Boxing Day, prices for the commodities hit new records, Bloomberg reports.

The spot price of gold briefly rose above $4,530 per ounce, while the corresponding price of silver rose to just over $75.

Anyone who invested in silver a year ago seems to have made a good investment, as the spot price has risen by about 150 percent since then.
