Växjö Lakers can count the same number of SM gold medals during this period, and the Småland club has also never lost an SM final series.

After Saturday's golden jubilation, the second in three seasons in the "golden city", Skellefteå AIK has reached the same level in terms of golds in recent years.

But considering that the team can also boast six silver medals and has won the SHL regular season five times, the club from northern Västerbotten has been the most dominant in Swedish ice hockey for the last 15 years.

Here are all final visits during the heyday of the last 15 seasons:

2011: Reached the final for the first time since the gold in 1978 and in its fifth season after returning to the SHL in 2006. It was beaten 1–4 in matches by Färjestad.

2012: The second consecutive SM final also ended in a loss, 2–4 in matches against Brynäs.

2013: Third time lucky and they won the gold medal. Victory in four straight games against northern rivals Luleå. Oscar Lindberg was named playoff MVP and then left to play for the New York Rangers.

2014: Second straight gold and Skellefteå won again in four straight games in the final, this time against Färjestad. Joakim Lindström became MVP in the playoffs and Jimmie Ericsson scored 12 goals in 14 games.

2015: Finals day again, but this time they lost to upstart Växjö, who won 4–2 in the matches.

2016: Sixth straight final, but another loss. This time Frölunda proved too strong and won 4–1 in matches.

2018: After a year without a final, Skellefteå were back, but had no chance against Växjö, who won four straight with a total goal difference of 20–1. Elias Pettersson shone and then moved on to the NHL.

2023: After three seasons without a final - in 2020 the playoffs were canceled due to the pandemic - Skellefteå was back, but Växjö was once again too strong and won 4–1 in matches.

2024: Skellefteå, led by returning Oscar Lindberg and goalkeeper Linus Söderström, celebrated gold again after a ten-year wait and four final losses in the meantime. Rögle were defeated 4–1 in matches.

2026: History repeated itself and Skellefteå took the club's fifth Swedish Championship gold, winning 4–1 in matches against Rögle.
