Henok Goitom will lead AIK as interim manager until the club finds a permanent solution.
The club announced this on its website.
Goitom is stepping up from his role as assistant manager since Henning Berg left last week.
AIK writes that the focus is on finding the right successor to Henning Berg rather than doing it quickly.
"We want to clarify that today's coaching team is highly competent for the task and we have full confidence in their ability. The task now is interim, and they are of course part of the recruitment process that is ongoing," says sports manager Thonas Berntsen.
Henok Goitom will, from Tuesday, be the interim head coach and will have the assistance of Kaz Sokolowski and Nils Heingård, who are being promoted from the P19 team.
AIK will play their first Allsvenskan match after the summer break on 7 July against Kalmar FF.
