"The ministry received the request via his representative on Sunday afternoon," writes the press secretary of Minister of Labor Johan Britz (L) in a text message.
Mårder is also resigning with immediate effect from his position as a board member of Raysearch, "for personal reasons," according to a press release.
Mårder was arrested on suspicion of aggravated insider trading by the Stockholm District Court on Friday, suspected of having urged another person to trade shares in Raysearch. He is suspected, on probable grounds, of four counts of aggravated insider trading between 2024 and 2026, but denies the charges.
Günther Mårder was appointed by the government to the board of the Swedish Public Employment Service in 2023. He has previously been CEO of the interest groups Aktiespararna and Företagarna.
