Both pickup trucks and GM's SUV models are selling well despite gasoline prices skyrocketing since the Iran war began.
Adjusted operating profit for 2026 is expected to be $15.5 billion, according to the new forecast.
The forecast increase comes as GM reports significantly stronger-than-expected results for the first quarter of the year. Adjusted earnings per share rose to $3.70, compared to expectations of $2.60 per share.
GM shares rose 6 percent in futures trading on Wall Street after the report.
