Household sentiment fell the most among the sectors covered by the EU index, to minus 20.6 from minus 16.4 in March.
For the services sector, the index fell to 0.9 in April from 4.1 in March. For the manufacturing sector, the index fell to minus 7.7 from minus 7.0.
A separate indicator also shows that uncertainty about future economic conditions is increasing.
