His defender Heidi Riesvang requested a 15-minute break and a tearful Gjert Ingebrigtsen quickly left the courtroom in Sør-Rogaland District Court in Sandnes.

Several sequences from the TV series Team Ingebrigtsen had been played. In a clip from 2018, the daughter talks about not becoming as good a runner as her brothers, who had all become European Champions.

Gjert Ingebrigtsen is charged with suspected assault and abuse against his daughter, who has requested anonymity, and Jakob Ingebrigtsen, who has Olympic Games gold on both 1,500 and 5,000 meters. The father denies the crime.

The trial is on its 15th day of proceedings.
