She was abused by her husband and subjected to sexual assaults by about 50 men. On February 17, Gisèle Pelicots autobiography will be released in Swedish.

The book is titled "A Tribute to Life" and is published simultaneously in several different countries, including Sweden where Albert Bonniers publishing house has acquired the rights.

The Frenchwoman Gisèle Pelicot chose not to use her right to anonymity during the trial in 2024 against her ex-husband and 50 other men who were charged with sexual assaults.

Her attitude that the shame must be moved from the victims of abuse to the perpetrators sparked a wave of response around the world. The book also has the subtitle "the shame must change sides".

In 2025, she was awarded the French distinction the Legion of Honour.
