The book is being published simultaneously in 20 different languages in January 2026.

"I am enormously grateful for the extraordinary support I have received since the trial began. I now want to tell my story in my own words", says Gisèle Pelicot in a press release via her publisher.

72-year-old Gisèle Pelicot received great attention for her actions during the trial against her ex-husband Dominique Pelicot. He was sentenced in December last year to the maximum penalty of 20 years' imprisonment after having drugged his wife and allowed other men to rape and assault her for several years. In the high-profile case, 51 people were prosecuted. All were found guilty, most of them for aggravated rape.

Pelicot was hailed as a feminist hero for her decision to hold an open trial and her refusal to be ashamed of what she had been subjected to.
