Gisèle Pelicot, who has been praised for her courage when she testified against her husband in a trial about mass rape in 2024, was awarded France's highest civilian honor, Knight of the Legion of Honor, on Sunday.

She testified against her ex-husband Dominique Pelicot, who was sentenced to 20 years in prison for having drugged and offered her to strange men to rape her for ten years. Gisèle Pelicot's testimony contributed to a change in France's rape law.

Also, the rapper and designer Pharrell Williams is among the 589 people who are awarded the French honor. He has been the creative director of Louis Vuitton's men's clothing since 2023.
