An 11-year-old girl was stabbed to death in the city of Nieuwegein in the Netherlands on Saturday. The police have arrested a 29-year-old man, resident in the city, as a suspect.
The girl was attacked outdoors at 3 pm and was treated on the spot by ambulance personnel, but her life could not be saved, according to the police.
The suspect was arrested nearby after being identified by witnesses. The motive is unclear, but the police are said to have received earlier reports that he had behaved confusedly.
