The home electronics industry is feeling the effects of the tougher economic conditions for many households. Sales in September were unchanged, while they have decreased by 4.5 percent so far this year compared to the same period last year. This according to figures from the industry organization Elektronikbranschen.
However, there are some exceptions, including TV sets, especially large ones. Sales of TV sets 75 inches or larger are up by as much as 36 percent, with an increase of 16.5 percent in September. Total TV sales are up 5.6 percent this year.
Another product group that is bucking the trend is cameras, with sales up 4.4 percent so far this year.
