Ghost will make an appearance at the Polar Music Prize together with Fredrik Åkesson from the metal band Opeth. The Linköping band Ghost returns home to Sweden after recently topping the album chart in the USA, only the second Swedish band to ever do so.

Queen will receive the Polar Prize on May 27 together with jazz pianist Herbie Hancock and conductor and soprano Barbara Hannigan.

Performing at the gala will also be Adam Lambert, who is now also the frontman of Queen. He will be accompanied on stage by, among others, Miriam Bryant and Erik Grönwall, the Swede who has sung in Skid Row and Heat.

The jazz musicians Esperanza Spalding, Robert Glasper, and Leo Genovese will also participate in honoring this year's prize winners.

The gala at the Winter Garden at the Grand Hotel in Stockholm will be broadcast on TV4.
