Steven Gerrard recently extended with Saudi Arabian Al-Ettifaq – now the former Liverpool star is leaving the coaching job.
According to a statement from the club, it is a mutual decision.
"Sometimes it doesn't go as planned, but the foundations he has contributed will guarantee a bright future in the long run. He changed the club for the better and that will never be forgotten", the club writes in the statement.
Gerrard was the club's coach for 18 months.
