Germany continues to dominate the European table tennis on the women's side. On Sunday, the Germans, who knocked out Sweden, secured their third consecutive gold in the European Championship team event. It's completely crazy, says Annett Kaufmann after the final win against Romania. On the men's side, France took the gold after 3–0 against Romania.

The Swedish medal dream on the women's side ended in the quarterfinals against Germany on Friday. But the 0–3 loss came against a gold favorite who would prove to hold out all the way.

And there was no discussion in the final of the team European Championship in Croatia. Germany defeated Romania with 3–0 in matches and took their third straight gold.

It's completely crazy. I'm just so happy for this team, says Annett Kaufmann in SVT's broadcast.

It was Kaufmann who started by defeating Bernadette Szocs with 3–2. Sabine Winter continued by beating Elizabeta Samara with 3–1. And Nina Mittelham tied up the package by securing the gold via 3–0 in sets against Andreea Dragoman.

Germany thus won all matches in the tournament with 3–0.

Also in the men's final, the gold favorite managed to handle the pressure when France defeated Romania with 3–0.

Alexis Lebrun started with a convincing 3–0 victory over Iulian Chirita. Alexis' little brother Félix Lebrun then continued with 3–1 against Eduard Ionescu. Finally, Simon Gauzy secured the European Championship gold via 3–1 in sets against Ovidiu Ionescu.

Sweden was the reigning European Champion on the men's side, but had to do without Truls Möregårdh and lost to Romania in the quarterfinals.
