Exports were halted three and a half months ago due to the war in Gaza. They will resume from November 24, government spokesman Stefan Kornelius announced, according to the DPA news agency.
Kornelius refers, among other things, to the current ceasefire between Israel and Hamas and the “stabilization that has occurred in recent weeks.” He also mentions that more and more humanitarian aid is being allowed into the bombed-out area.
Chancellor Friedrich Merz announced on August 8 that the export of weapons and equipment would be put on hold, pointing to Israel's increasingly aggressive warfare in the Palestinian area.
