In the latest forecast, growth was projected at 0.5 percent this year and 0.9 percent next year.
Growth of 1.3 percent this year would - if realized - be the highest German growth rate since 2017.
"The German economy is on a growth path and has proven to be more resilient than expected," the German Finance Ministry wrote in a press release.
According to the forecast, much of the growth ahead will depend on how the geopolitical conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine develop.
