Europe's largest economy lowered taxes on gasoline and diesel this spring as part of a move to make life easier for struggling households.
A similar tax cut will continue this fall. A new proposal, temporarily reducing the tax by 17 cents (equivalent to 1.92 kronor) over a three-month period, is set to take effect next week.
The cost of the measure is 2.5 billion euros.
