The missed shots at the third shooting resulted in a pair of penalty rounds – and the top placements in the World Championship mass start in France were thus gone for Anna Magnusson.
The 29-year-old then burned three shots at the final shooting and finished in 28th place, 2.43,5 minutes behind German winner Selina Grotian.
I didn't think it felt that bad, but it became damn many misses in the standing, says Magnusson to SVT.
It's sad when it felt so good in the beginning and then you totally lost it.
Elvira Öberg became the best Swedish despite a tough start with two misses. The star had two more missed shots but strong skiing gave her a ninth place.
Grotian – with her first career win – was 12,7 seconds ahead of compatriot Franziska Preuss. Paulina Batovska Fialkova, Slovakia, became third.
For the World Cup skiers, there is now a little competition break over Christmas and New Year's. Not until January 9-12 will it be time again, when there are competitions in German Oberhof.
