German Retail Trade Falls by 1.1 Percent in April

The decline was 1.1 percent compared to the previous month, which was unexpectedly negative. Analysts had on average counted on an increased retail trade – an increase of 0.2 percent, according to Bloomberg.

In March, German retail trade increased by 0.9 percent compared to the previous month, according to revised figures.

The figures are adjusted for inflation and seasonal and calendar effects.
