German factory orders rise more than expected in May

Order intake rose 1.9 percent compared with April, versus an average analyst forecast of 1.1 percent, according to a compilation of Bloomberg forecasts.

In April, new orders fell by 3.2 percent compared with the previous month, according to revised figures.

At an annual rate, the increase in May was 6.2 percent, compared with the expected 4.6 percent.
