Germany's GDP grew by 0.2 percent in the fourth quarter compared to the third quarter, according to an initial estimate from the statistics agency Destatis.

This means that Europe's largest economy and an important trading partner for Sweden recorded its first year of growth - up 0.2 percent - since 2022.

The growth figure was in line with expectations, according to a Bloomberg survey.

Germany's economy is expected to continue growing by more than 1 percent per year in the coming years, according to economists. Support is expected from major fiscal investments in defense and infrastructure, among other things.
