The man was arrested last summer, then suspected of having taken the lives of four patients.
But in a comprehensive investigation, more victims have been found over time. First eight, then ten, now 15 – and the authorities fear that the figure will continue to rise. The first known case is from autumn 2021.
The doctor is alleged to have given the victims, most of whom were women, lethal doses of drugs. Then, in several cases, he is said to have set fire to the victims' homes, in an attempt to cover up the crimes.
