Germany is not responsible for the US drone attacks on Yemen because signals were sent via a military base in Ramstein. This according to a decision by a German constitutional court.

Germany does not violate international law by not strictly controlling or stopping American drone attacks via the German military base, according to the court in Karlsruhe.

The plaintiffs were two men residing in Yemen who claimed that their relatives were killed in an American drone attack in Yemen in 2012.

They have had the support of the Berlin-based European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights (ECCHR) during the legal process, which has claimed that the German government must stop the use of the base if the country is not to be seen as an accomplice to the death of innocent civilians.
