German Court Convicts Two Men of Plotting Attacks on Pro-Israeli Figures for Iran

A German court has convicted two men of planning attacks on pro-Israeli figures on behalf of Iran.

A court in Hamburg has sentenced a Danish citizen to eight and a half years in prison for planning to kill, among others, Volker Beck, chairman of the German-Israeli Society, and Josef Schuster, chairman of the Central Council of Jews in Germany.

An Afghan national has been sentenced to four and a half years in prison. According to prosecutors, he agreed to recruit a third man and provide him with a weapon for the attack on Beck.

According to prosecutors, the Danish man received orders from a unit within Iran's Revolutionary Guard.

The two men were detained in Germany after being arrested and extradited from Denmark last year.
