George Russell Wins Canadian Grand Prix as McLaren Drivers Collide

I am sorry. It was my fault, stupid of me, said Norris over the radio to his team, McLaren.

Piastri finished in fourth place and it was just in the battle for that he drove into him with three laps left and was forced to retire.

18-year-old Kimi Antonelli, Italy, could take advantage of the McLaren crash and became third in his Mercedes and thus the third youngest driver in history to take a podium.

Russell started from pole position for the second year in a row and held the lead for most of the race.

George Russell became the fourth winner of the season after World Championship-leading Piastri, Norris and Verstappen, the four-time champion.

It's fantastic to be back at the top of the podium, it hasn't happened since Las Vegas last year and it was thanks to the fantastic pole position I took yesterday, said Russell.

Oscar Piastri leads the World Championship table with ten points ahead of Norris and Verstappen is third, 49 points behind.
