Britain's George Russell secured pole position for the first Formula 1 race of the season on Sunday in Melbourne, Australia. The Mercedes driver topped qualifying ahead of teammate Kimi Antonelli and Red Bull's Isack Hadjar.
Reigning world champion Lando Norris, of McLaren, finished sixth, and Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton was seventh.
Half-Swedish Arvid Lindblad, who races for Great Britain and Red Bull, finished in eighth place.
Red Bull's Max Verstappen crashed during qualifying and was unable to continue.
