The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art is a dream that "Star Wars" creator Lucas has had for almost two decades, and it is now complete, on a former parking lot near USC in Los Angeles.

Now the filmmaker is showing off the creation, which he calls "the people's art temple," ahead of the grand opening to the public on September 22.

With its futuristic architecture, many associate the museum with Lucas' space saga, but the "Star Wars" memorabilia make up only seven percent of the collection's 40,000 works, which also include paintings by Banksy, Frida Kahlo and Norman Rockwell, among others.
