George Clooney, his wife Amal Clooney and the couple's nine-year-old twins live on a farm in Brignoles in southeastern France, an area badly affected by forest fires.
"We love Brignoles and our friends here," George Clooney writes in a letter to the town's mayor. "Whatever happens, Amal and I will do what we can to make our village whole again," he further assures.
George Clooney has previously explained the move from the US to France by saying that the couple wants to give their children as normal an upbringing as possible.
