Mediators informed Hamas that a new round of indirect negotiations between Hamas and Israel will begin today, Sunday, says a Palestinian official with insight into the talks to AFP.

This happens after the terror-stamped Hamas on Friday gave a positive response to the mediators regarding the latest proposal, but emphasized that they want to negotiate the details.

Israel then announced, on Saturday, that they will send a delegation to Qatar.

Netanyahu said on Sunday that he has given his negotiators "clear instructions", without going into details.

I believe that this meeting with President Trump can clearly contribute to promoting this (an agreement on a ceasefire) that we all hope for, added the Prime Minister before boarding the plane to Washington.

The latest proposal for an agreement is said to include, among other things, the release of ten of the hostages who are still alive and the return of the remains of several of those who have died. In exchange, a 60-day ceasefire in Gaza and the release of a number of Palestinian prisoners are offered.
