A Russian is sentenced to nine years in prison for treason, according to a court decision in Siberia. He was accused of having transferred money to Ukraine's military, reports the security service FSB's local office.
Since Russia launched its large-scale invasion of Ukraine almost three years ago, the country has regularly handed down long prison sentences to individuals accused of espionage or of having assisted Ukraine.
The man was convicted of having contacted a person on the messaging service Telegram and later transferred money to the Ukrainian military, writes the Russian state news agency Ria, citing the FSB.
