Coco Gauff made a strong comeback when she turned a deficit into a victory in the final of the WTA tournament in tennis against Olympic Games gold medalist Zheng Qinwen.
The world's third-ranked player was heavily pressured after losing the first set 3–6, but took the second 6–4.
Even in the third set, it looked like it would be a win for Zheng, when the Chinese player served for the match at 5–4. But Gauff broke at the last minute and managed to take the match to a tiebreaker. There, she would also emerge victorious. The final score was 3–6, 6–4, 7–6.
Thus, Gauff wins the WTA tournament for the first time in her career and becomes the first American to do so since Serena Williams won in 2014.
