The cost to the state: approximately 1.6 billion kronor in reduced tax revenue.
The tax on gasoline will be reduced by 1 kronor per liter from May through September. The diesel tax will be reduced by 40 öre per liter. The tax on aviation fuel will also be reduced.
V and MP voted no. They want to provide households with other support, not through an expensive tax cut that they believe will make it harder to combat climate change, increase emissions and would not be well targeted.
According to the government, the reduction benefits men the most. Low-income households see the largest relative increase in purchasing power. But high-income earners save more in absolute kronor.
