The rescue service has been alerted to a building on Northvolt's premises in Skellefteå after an alarm about a gas leak, reports TV4 News.

One person has been taken to hospital, writes SVT Västerbotten.

We have had some kind of gas leak. One person has inhaled the gas and this person has been removed from the site with unclear injury, says Ulf Gille, alarm operator at the rescue service, to SVT.

To SvD Gille says it is a leak of 300 liters of sulfuric acid and that about ten rescue units are on site.

The alarm came in just before 8 pm. Everyone who was in the building is said to have been evacuated.
