Christer Gardell promised 100 million kronor to Swedish tennis if the entire federation board resigned and Ulf Rosberg was elected chairman.
The “Tennis Coup” was successful, but Gardell and Rosberg were subsequently reported by the Sports Ombudsman, who argued that Gardell's conditional promise of money had an undue influence on the vote at the association's annual general meeting.
Rin acquits both Gardell and Rosberg and writes, among other things, that the pledges "have been communicated openly with all those entitled to vote and have neither implied nor entailed a violation of the Swedish Tennis Association's statutes or other of the association's rules."
