Suspected gang member Ildar "Scar" Galiyev is being held on probable cause for a number of serious crimes, including several murders. "I have never had a case with so many serious crimes in the same trial," said prosecutor Lukas Tigerstrand.

Galiyev, who has been in prison in Greece since the summer of 2024, is suspected of more than 20 serious crimes.

He is now being held by the Södertörn District Court for, among other things, several murders, attempted murders and aggravated weapons offenses. The suspected crimes were committed during the wave of violence in 2023 and 2024.

Denies crime

Galiyev appeared at the detention hearing via video link, dressed in the green uniform of the correctional service. When the prosecutor announced the detention orders, he seemed unfazed.

"He denies the crimes. He has requested to be released. And that applies to all charges, says Henrik Jacobsson, one of Galiyev's defense attorneys."

The 25-year-old, who goes by the nickname "Scar", is considered to be highly placed in the criminal Dalen network, where he has been singled out as a torpedo.

"We suspect these crimes occurred in the context of a conflict between two criminal networks, where they focused on harming other people in the network or their relatives, says Lukas Tigerstrand, prosecutor and deputy head of the preliminary investigation."

Prosecution after the summer

The investigation has been extensive, according to Lukas Tigerstrand. He believes that charges could be brought after the summer or in the fall.

"We have nothing that would lead us to request his continued detention, says Tigerstrand."

Ildar Galiyev, 25, was born in Kazakhstan but grew up with his family in Enskededalen in southern Stockholm. He has been convicted of several drug offenses and attempted extortion.

When Greek police arrested him, suspicions of new crimes arose and he was sentenced to prison. He has now served that sentence in Greece and was extradited to Sweden on Monday.
