A theft gang that focuses on specific four-wheelers is evading the police in Norrbotten. Over 40 four-wheelers have been stolen during the summer, reports NSD. It's damn frustrating, says Magnus Eklund at the police.

The league has ravaged Norrbotten, Västerbotten and Jämtland. The thieves know exactly what they are after – mainly four-wheelers of the brand Can-Am but also Polaris and Yamaha. The information about where the four-wheelers are located they pick up from the Transport Agency, according to the police.

They move over large areas, preferably in the inland where police resources can be smaller. We do not know how many they are, if it is the same people or if they switch with each other, says Magnus Eklund, crime coordinator at the police in Västerbotten, to NSD.

On one occasion they were caught on a surveillance video but the police have otherwise no tracks after them, despite criminal investigations with technicians and police dogs that can track dna.

– It's damn frustrating to come to work and then another four-wheeler has been stolen during the night. We are tearing our hair, says Magnus Eklund to the magazine.

The police are now appealing to those who may have seen something interesting for help. They also advise those who have a four-wheeler to request a sales stop at the Transport Agency. It is more effective than trying to hide it.

It does not help, they search until they find it.
