A leading figure in the criminal network Dödspatrullen, who was sentenced in the district court for a murder in Uppsala in 2017, is released on bail, reports P4 Uppland.
The verdict from the district court was appealed to the Svea Court of Appeal, which, as the trial concluded on Thursday, decided to release the man from custody.
The decision indicates that the man, who was sentenced to nearly ten years' imprisonment by the Uppsala district court, will not be convicted of murder in the Court of Appeal.
A co-defendant who was also sentenced for the murder in the district court will remain in custody awaiting a verdict. He is, however, also charged with other crimes.
The murder in question occurred on April 1, 2017, in the Boländerna district of Uppsala. Two masked individuals dressed in white protective overalls arrived at the scene by car and shot the victim dead as he left a fast-food restaurant.
