The arrest reportedly took place on Friday, and Tunisian authorities have confirmed it to Swedish police.

In Sweden, the man is being held in absentia on suspicion of more than ten serious violent and drug crimes. He is, among other things, suspected of involvement in the murder of a 15-year-old boy at a restaurant in Skogås in Huddinge municipality in January 2023.

A senior police source tells SvD that the arrested person is a key figure in the wave of criminal violence.

At the end of April, a Swedish delegation, including Minister of Justice Gunnar Strömmer (M) and Deputy National Police Commissioner Stefan Hector, was in Tunisia. Talks were held about increasing cooperation between the countries against the gangs.
