A new AI tool from Google has sent gaming company stocks soaring. But it will be a while before the tool can fully replace human developers.

Google recently introduced Genie, a tool for creating interactive worlds with a simple text prompt or from your own image. For example, you can create a winter landscape where you control a Santa who moves around in the snow.

The announcement has affected the shares of several gaming companies. Roblox plunged 12 percent and Grand Theft Auto publisher Take-Two fell 10 percent, Reuters reports.

Gaming giant Nintendo's stock also fell significantly after the news about Genie, but has recovered somewhat.

Google's tool is currently limited to 60 seconds of interactivity and lacks deeper features beyond simple exploration.
