The film is directed by May el-Toukhy and is the only Nordic film taking part in the competition section at this year's festival.
Even the big Hollywood studios are staying away - as is Netflix. However, brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher will be coming to present the documentary film "Oasis: Don't Look Back in Anger", which will premiere in Venice.
Sweden is represented by Alicia Vikander, who has one of the leading roles in Andrea Pallaoro's film "The Echo Chamber". Florian Zeller's "Bunker", starring Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem, is also selected for the competition section, as is Werner Herzog's "Bucking Fastard".
This year's Venice Film Festival will be held from September 2 to 12.
